Everyday Objects With Faces Are Awesome

When you walk around and look at everything around you, chances are, you may see a face. It may be human, it may be an animal, but sometimes you can see faces in inanimate objects. This is called Pareidolia: Seeing faces in random things!

Nah, it has more to do with the culture of the website than anything else.

Facebook (and Twitter to a lesser extent) is about your outward self. You have your real name attached to your profile, the people you follow are often people you know in real life. You’re less inclined to share your true feelings.

Tumblr is on the opposite end of the spectrum and doesn’t require the use of names. Anonymity is almost encouraged on this site. It’s more media driven and since people on Tumblr have blogs it takes on this curation aspect. People’s blogs are a collection of things they like instead of explicitly them sharing their thoughts or feelings (like on Twitter or Facebook).

So its easier to seem boring on Tumblr because Tumblr does not force anyone to say anything in order to participate. You can reblog shit all day long without adding any caption and other people will love your blog.

The depression aspect seems that way because tumblr is less visible than Facebook or Twitter so people feel more comfortable sharing the thoughts they wouldn’t put anywhere else.

This may be why I love Tumblr so much.
